ART TEACHER WINS NORVILL ART PRIZE

Hunter TAFE art teacher John Morris has won the $15 000 Norvill Art Prize for 2012.
The prestigious award was for his landscape work, ” Snow on Higher Ground”.
The work was chosen for highlighting the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the Australian landscape.
Mr Morris has taught at the Hunter TAFE for 20 years, and now is head teacher of the Art School.
The Norvill Art Prize is held in the upper Hunter and the exhibition can be viewed at Murrurundi RSL on weekends until October 28.
