The October school holidays is one of Port Macquarie’s busiest times of the year, with businesses reaping the benefits of an influx in tourists.
And after experiencing strong visitation numbers in the cooler months, summer is expected to be one of the biggest yet.
“We’ve had a lot of success with some of the campaigns we’ve run. One of the campaigns run with Wotif.com has seen June/July figures up by 20 per cent and that’s despite having a rather mild winter.”
The launch of the Little Treasures campaign, has seen an 11 per cent increase in visits to the tourism website in the last month.
