I was very closely involved in the search for MDX from the time it was first reported missing, that Sunday night all those years ago. There has always been one avenue of the search that was never followed up. At the time of the Mayday call from MDX the radar operator at Williamtown was tracking the aircraft on his radar and actually watched the aircraft disappear from his radar screen. I have maintained that if the authorities in charge of the search had gone back to that operator and got him to show them on his screen exactly where MDX diisappeared, that should have been as close as one could actually get to identifing the actual crash site, within a very small radius.
