Talented teenage surfer Wes Bainbridge has narrowly beaten his good mate Jesse Adam to win the first ever Junior Surf Masters on their home break of Merewether.
It rounded out a great week for the Bainbridge family with Angie, older sister of Wes, winning gold as a member of the 4x200m freestyle relay team at Beijing.
The final was surfed in great conditions with the four man final throwing up some great rides.
Take a look at the decider which was captured by NBN which also includes Avoca’s Dane Atcheson who finished third and Sam Lendrum who came fourth.
All four now advance to the Junior Masters Trial event in Sydney on Friday 29th August with the chance to reach the final event backed by World champion Mick Fanning.
