A number of new citizens were welcomed to the region today as part of Australian Citizenship Day celebrations.
Hailing from seven different countries including Bangladesh and Nepal – the 15 citizens took an official pledge and were presented with certificates.
The ceremony at Tamworth regional council marks the 65th anniversary of citizenship in Australia.
“Since then more than 4.5 million people have done what you’re about to do. Make a commitment to Australia and its people. Together as citizens we will continue to ensure that Australia remains the best possible country in the world to live.”
