COUNCIL TO INVESTIGATE TOURIST PARKING

Meanwhile tourists could soon face new parking fees.
Central Coast Council Administrator Dick Persson has called for a report into beachside parking.
If introduced, it’s thought the charges will generate millions of dollars for the struggling council.
“Any scheme that comes in will have good protection to ratepayers so they can continue to park for free. But I think it’s only fair that visitors who come here and use our beaches pay a small contribution towards the costs of providing the lifeguards and cleaning the beaches.”
