BALLINA SHIRE COUNCIL TO DEBATE FILM STUDIOS OCCUPYING QUARRY SITE

Film studios will be a hot topic at Ballina Shire Council’s meeting tomorrow.
Councillor Ben Smith will seek support to appoint Byron Studios as the preferred future user of the Alstonville Quarry site.
Councillor Keith Williams already voicing his approval for the motion.
“I think we’ve got a real opportunity at the moment to get a permanent home for a major creative arts project and we should be working as hard as we can to bring this to Ballina,” Keith said.
Council is still investigating whether a proposed film site near the airport is still a viable option.
