LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT TO ACT ON INQUIRY RECOMMENDATIONS

The Northern New South Wales Local Health District says it will finalise plans to roll out recommendations from the mental health inquiry, in March.

The State Government yesterday handed down 19 recommendations following the independent review of seclusion, restrain and observation in mental health facilities.

The inquiry was re-opened and expanded to include mental health treatment following leaked footage of patient Miriam Merten, who died at Lismore Base Hospital in 2014.
