Man assaults police officers in Gunnedah
A 31-year-old man will face court after he allegedly assaulted two police officers and resisted arrest in Gunnedah yesterday morning.
Police were called to Tambar Springs following reports an alleged vehicle had been sighted, upon arrival they found a man allegedly armed with a screwdriver.
The man failed to comply with police directions after he put down the screwdriver and police discharged a taser.
He then allegedly hit an officer in the face, causing a cut to his forehead.
OC spray was deployed, and the man was arrested.
The man then allegedly kicked an officer in the shoulder while being placed into a caged police vehicle.
