Third person charged over violent kidnapping and shooting on NSW Mid-North Coast
A 27-year-old woman has become the third person to be charged over a violent kidnapping last month, when a man was allegedly taken at gunpoint from a Port Macquarie home.
Driven to a remote forest in Bago, the 32-year-old man was allegedly shot multiple times in the arms and legs. A jogger later found him naked and bleeding.
Detectives investigating the November 17 kidnapping tracked down two alleged suspects in Western Australia.
The 25-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were arrested four days later after their car broke down on a remote bush track next to Balladonia Roadhouse, about 700 kilometres east of Perth.
WA Police bodycams captured the moment of their dramatic arrest as they surrounded the stranded vehicle with their weapons drawn.
The pair were extradited to New South Wales and charged. They both remain before the courts.
A second woman was arrested on Monday by highway patrol officers at South Kempsey on the NSW North Coast.
The officers were conducting a vehicle stop when they saw the 27-year-old allegedly lying across the back seat.
She was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with kidnapping, aggravated bodily harm and shooting with an intent to murder.
She was refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court today.
