COOPERS BATTLE ON AS NETHERLANDS SLUMP IN WORLD CUP OPENER

Bangladesh has staved off a spirited fightback from the Netherlands to claim an eight-run victory in their first-round match at the World Twenty20.

Northern Rivers brothers Ben and Tom Cooper, who have Dutch citizenship, got off to a bumpy start, scoring 20 and 15 respectively.

Coming off a fine run to the Asia Cup final last weekend, Bangladesh posted 153-7.

While the Netherlands were restricted to 145-7.
