Tamworth councillors will consider a development application tomorrow night for a proposed Islamic Community Centre on Goonoo Goonoo (Gunny Gun-Noo) Road.
It’s sparked major debate in the community, with some claiming it might be used as a mosque.
But those behind the DA say “the facility will not be utilised in any manner that falls within the Local Environmental Plan definition as a public place of worship.”
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting, but they must register online and leave emotion out of any debate.
