Decision to extend Upper Hunter and North West mines sparks climate protests

Climate protestors made their frustrations known today – angry at a decision by the federal government to extend the life of three coal mines in the Hunter and north west.

One will now operate until 2048 – activists claim the approvals are “reckless” and “unbelievable”.
