Dozens of competitors from across the State have stepped into the ring in Tamworth for a regional boxing sparring day.

Testing their skills against unfamiliar opponents, the boxers are warming up for fights in the coming months.

Born and bred in the Manning Valley, Rob Douglas joined the Taree bureau in June 2021 after a short career in print media. He joined the Tamworth team in July 2023. Rob graduated from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst in 2016 with a sports journalism degree.
