CCRL Chair says dramatic changes in 2025

Clubs to be fined for final round forfeit debacle

Central Coast Rugby League Chair Nathan Waugh says there will be dramatic changes to the competitions By-Laws in 2025, to ensure there’s never a repeat of the debacle that unfolded yesterday.

Reigning premiers Toukley were set for a bumper crowd against Erina, but the top of the table Eagles failed to field a side – and are yet to reveal why.

Woy Woy – sitting fourth on the ladder, forfeited its match against the Wyong Roos – a decision it’s understood is related to an ugly incident earlier in the season.

Both clubs face fines of up to $3000 and have until Wednesday to reply to a show cause notice.

It’s almost certain that Erina will also lose the privilege of hosting this weekend’s Semi-Finals.
