Nicola Olyslagers clinches back to back silver
The Central Coast Nicola Olyslagers has claimed Silver in the Women’s high jump overnight, clearing 2.0 metres.
But Ukraine’s Yaraslova Mahuchikh pipped her for gold, Mahuchikh clearing the height on the first attempt, while Nicola succeeded on her third. Olyslagers was also joined by fellow Aussie Eleanor Patterson on the podium, who claimed Bronze.

Torrie Lewis sets new PB in 200M
Australia’s fastest women Torrie Lewis was in action overnight at Stade de France – setting a new personal best in the women’s 200 metre.
Lewis claimed fourth in round one, and will now proceed through to the repechage round tonight.
Kookaburras Olympic campaign ends in heartbreak
The Kookaburras Olympics dreams have been dashed – Defeated 2-nil by the Netherlands in their must win quarterfinal.
The heart breaking loss has seen the Aussie men’s team return home empty handed for just the second time since 1992.

Lake Macquarie sailors make Games debut
Mixed Multihull duo Brin Liddell and Rhiannan Brown have begun their Olympic campaign – in action for the first time across the weekend in six out of their twelve races. The Lake Macquarie pairing currently sit in 12th after the first six races, with the top 10 progressing through to the medal race. They still have two more days of competition ahead of the medal race.
