Shelly Beach home gutted by flames, four occupants escaping serious injury

A group of four people and their dog have escaped serious injury in Shelly Beach, after flames engulfed a Lord Street home at around 9PM last night.

It took crews one hour to get the blaze under control… today, fire investigators were scouring the scene to determine the cause.

Inspector James Davies says investigators believe the fire might have started with a gaming console, and spread from there.

It was a neighbour who helped the group escape safely, unfortunately the home has been completely destroyed.
