Boys charged after woman ‘beaten with sticks’ outside town pool
Three young boys have been charged after a woman was attacked and her car stolen in northern New South Wales earlier this week.
Police were called to a swimming pool on Anne Street in Moree at about 6pm on Monday.
They were told a 24-year-old woman had been approached by four young people, who hit her with sticks and kicked her when she fell to the ground.
The group allegedly stole her handbag and drove away in her SUV.
The woman was left suffering the effects of shock, with scratches and bruises.
About 9am yesterday, police arrested three boys at a Moree home, two aged 13 and a third aged 12.
At about 2pm yesterday, a 14-year-old boy also attended Moree Police Station, and is assisting with inquiries.
The three younger boys were charged with multiple offences, including aggravated robbery and bodily harm.
Two were also charged with breach of bail.
They were refused bail to appear in court yesterday afternoon.
