INTO THE FUTURE FOR PELICAN AND BLACKSMITHS RESIDENTS

Pelican and Blacksmiths residents were taken into the future today with virtual reality technology.
The set-up from Lake Macquarie City Council has been designed to address future flooding and seal level rise.
“It assists people to be able to understand how the sea level rises will effect them and how infrastructure and the development of things like roads and parks will need to be adjusted in order to cope with that,” said Virtual Perspective Creative Director, Tim Davidson.
While it’s good news in the short term – in the long term, Pelican foreshore will find itself awash by the end of the century.
