PELICAN JETTY TO UNDERGO MAJOR SAFETY UPGRADES

Pelican Jetty at Lake Macquarie will be transformed, with the news coming just days after the $1.2-million upgrade of the boat ramp, opened to the public.

Lake Macquarie Council says the jetty will be shortened, but still maintain its existing L-shape.

It’s expected to re-open before the school holidays.

The jetty’s been partially closed since inspections uncovered failing support structures.
