Newcastle celebrates 40 years of the Electrified Train

40 years ago, the first electrified train rolled into Newcastle Station – marking the start of more efficient travel to and from Sydney.

Now, on the anniversary of the historic day, former train driver Edward Robert Smith has spoken of his experience and enduring passion for the railway.
