Despite claiming a sixth straight New South Wales Country rugby title, Newcastle’s players have been snubbed by Cockatoos’ selectors.
Only four were named in an extended 29-man squad… Lewie Catt from Wanderers, Southern Beaches’ Va Talaieva and Hamilton’s Paul Dan and Ben Harriss.
The team Newcastle beat to the crown, Illawarra, had the biggest contingent, with 10 players named.
