Plane lands successfully following landing gear failure

A plane reporting an issue with its landing gear has landed safely at Newcastle Airport in New South Wales after three hours of circling the runway.

It’s thought the plane, believed to be a Beech B-200 Super King, was carrying up to five people including two crew members.

The pilots stayed in the air after reporting the equipment failure just after 9am, trying to burn fuel before attempting to land.
