CLUBS COME ON BOARD FOR NEW LOOK AFL COMPETITION

It’s a landmark day for aussie rules in the Hunter.
NBN News can reveal that 20 out of the 21 local clubs have signed on to the new league, run by the sport’s governing body, and that the final club has expressed its intention to do so.
“We’re exceptionally excited, we know it’s a legacy moment for football, and we’re very thankful that clubs have supported this new concept.” Said Simon Smyth, from AFL NSW/ACT.
The AFL has also appointed three board members who will decide the structure of the new competition – more will join them following an election in a few weeks time.
