Lake Macquarie man charged over alleged drug and firearms offences
A man will face court today charged over further alleged drug and firearms offences following an investigation by Lake Macquarie Police.
In April 2024, investigators from the Lake Macquarie Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into an alleged stealing incident.
Following an investigation, police attended a property on Second Street, Boolaroo, on Wednesday April 24.
Police searched a man at the scene and allegedly located and seized an amount of buprenorphine.
A subsequent search of a property on McLaughlin Street, Argenton, was also conducted, with police allegedly located and seized a firearm and ammunition.
The 36-year-old man was taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with a number of offences.
He was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 25 April 2024 where he was granted strict conditional bail.
Following further inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a storage unit in Mayfield about 11am yesterday.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized a second firearm and ammunition.
About 4.50pm yesterday, police arrested and charged the 36-year-old man at Toronto Police Station.
He was refused bail to appear before Toronto Local Court today.
