A Hunter man has been sentenced to 20 years behind bars for murdering a love rival near Newcastle.
Kevin Smith fatally stabbed Daniel Pettersson, after the victim stormed a Jesmond home in January 2022.
Both men had been in an on again, off again relationship with a woman and had a bitter ongoing rivalry.
A Judge today found Pettersson went to the house looking for a fight on the day of the stabbing – jailing him for at least 15 years.
