NEGOTIATIONS BEGIN FOR SHOWGROUND

Negotiations for the sale of the Tamworth Showground are continuing, with property managers hoping to finalise a deal in coming days.
The site went under the hammer yesterday but failed to reach the reserve – the property being passed in at $6.5- million.
Agents were hoping to secure a sale today but say they’re still negotiating with an out-of-town buyer.
The 16-hectare property is positioned in the heart of Tamworth’s industrial estate, near the railway.
After a year off the Tamworth show will move to its new home at the Australian Equine, Livestock and Events Centre in 2012.
