Hunter man dies following altercation with axe and scooter

A 29-year-old is under police guard in Maitland Hospital tonight, following the death of a man at Port Stephens early this morning.

Detectives are investigating if a noise complaint sparked a violent altercation, where an axe and a scooter may have been used as weapons.
