Nelson Bay’s first Probus Club celebrated its 40th anniversary on Thursday, after being formed in the 1970s to bring retirees of all backgrounds together.
“It gives peolple of retired age the chance to get together and have a common interest in doing something, that’s what it’s all about.” – Ian Sloggett, Nelson Bay Probus Club President.
The group focuses on skills and education, with members of the community invited to be guest speakers every few weeks.
