FIRE DESTROYS HOME IN PORT MACQUARIE

It’s been a shocking start to the New Year for a family in Port Macquarie, after their home was destroyed by fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before nine o’clock last night to find the property well alight.

Firefighters say while the main body of the fire was in the kitchen and sun room at the rear of the property, the entire home has been severely damaged.

Fortunately no one was home at the time.

The cause and origin is under investigation.
