A major New South Wales highway is closed south of Byron Bay after a crash.
A B-double truck crashed and burned on the M1 Pacific Highway near Farlows Lane, Maclean, Transport for NSW said.
The M1 is now closed in both directions.
Light vehicles travelling north are being diverted via Cameron Street through Maclean, then via River Street and Yamba Road to rejoin the motorway.
The southbound diversion is the same in reverse.
Heavy vehicles are being parked.
All motorists should allow extra travel time in the area.
Emergency services and transport crews are on site.
