The heat didn’t stop Tamworth’s budding cricketers from hitting the pitch, despite having to take the Sydney Sixers camp indoors.
The day sought to introduce youngsters to the sport with skills practice and confidence building.
It also encouraged the 4 to 12 year olds to take part next season.
“We’ve got over 200 registered kids on a Saturday morning and registrations are still open now for the next season. We kick off on the third of February,” Michael Godwin.
The age groups were split into two, with a skills workshops for the under 8s…and T-20 style games for the 8 to 12 year olds.
