LOADED HAND GUN SEIZED AT RANDOM BREATH TEST IN EAST MAITLAND

A man will face Maitland Local Court today charged with multiple fire arms offences overnight.
A 42-year-old was stopped for a random breath test in East Maitland late last night where officers allegedly found him in possession of methyl-amphetamine.
Police subsequently searched the vehicle and allegedly found a loaded hand gun in the centre console.
The man was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station.
A house in Cecily Close was later searched where police found a rifle fitted with a scope, and home made silencer. Multiple rounds of ammunition was also seized.
The man was refused bail.
