Former South Newcastle captain Matt Shipway has returned from a stint in the US to captain/coach the Port Macquarie Sharks.
Shipway earned plenty of praise during his time in the Real NRL, and while representing America at the World Cup.
He hopes the Sharks will benefit from that experience.
“When I was young it was always good to have someone to look up to, we had some good captain coaches there so I guess a bit of a role reversal – it’d be good to help some of them guys playing wise.”
