State Health Minister Jillian Skinner can expect a request for review from Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson, regarding the decision to cut the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s winching capabilities.
The move comes after locals expressed their outrage at the move.
“The community has rallied and certainly my office has been inundated with calls and requests that the winching operation be resumed.”
But Mr Anderson continued to back the stance, saying the decision was based on a state government report into the service.
“This is a very, very dangerous operation and a very highly risky maneuvore.”
“On the back of the medical reform recommendation that winching out here cease, we needed to abide by those recommendations.”
