90-year-old dies in hospital after alleged sexual assualt
A 90-year-old woman has died in hospital, nearly two weeks after she was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a NSW Central Coast aged care facility.
Police allege a man broke into the Uniting Nareen Gardens facility in Bateau Bay about 12.40am on November 15 and assaulted and sexually assaulted the woman.
She received extensive injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Police said the woman died in hospital this morning.
Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in The Entrance on November 17 and arrested Brett Anthony Crawford.
The 34-year-old was charged with numerous offences including aggravated break and enter, inflicting actual bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse with the victim, and aggravated sexual assault.
He remains behind bars until his next court appearance in eight weeks.
