PORT MACQUARIE WINDS BACK THE CLOCK FOR ANTIQUES FAIR

Port Macquarie took a step back in time this weekend, as the Antique and Collectibles Fair returned to town.
Dealers from across the country showcased an array of rare and quirky items from yesteryear.
“This is an english oak, what they call a desk compendium,” store-holder John Edwards said.
“It probably could be referred to as a 19th century laptop.”
More than 1,000 people attended the event at St Columba School – which for the first time ran for three days.
“We have been absolutely amazed of the response for a Friday – antique fairs are normally Saturday-Sunday, maybe Friday night,” dealer Thomas Vaarzon-Morel said.
