PORT MACQUARIE RELAY FOR LIFE RAISES CLOSE TO 60K FOR CANCER COUNCIL

At Oxley Oval in Port Macquarie there were some weary walkers this morning, after 24-hours of completing Relay for Life.

500-people started the event on Saturday morning which raised close to $60,000 for the Cancer Council.

By this morning some were tired, but most harnessed super hero energy to get them through.

Local identity Michael Reid named this years ambassador.

“It’s a really fabulous honour to be asked to do that. Cancer’s is something that is pretty close to everyone and I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been touched by it.”
