WORK WRAPS ON MULTI-MILLION UPGRADE TO MURRURUNDI HOSPITAL

Work has now wrapped on a multi-million dollar upgrade to Murrurundi’s Wilson Memorial Hospital.

The redevelopment began in early 2020 to modernise the town’s health facilities.

The $304-million hospital includes an inpatient service, 24-hour emergency department and ambulance bays.

Controversially, it also saw the demolition of the town’s original hospital building – established in the 19th century.

The new hospital has been open to patients since November, with last week’s official opening canned due to Covid restrictions.
