Man stabbed at Tweed Heads
An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed at Tweed Heads this morning.
Emergency services were called to Kirkwood Road, near the M1 Tweed Heads South about 7:25am, following reports a man had been injured.
At the scene, officers located a 55-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his neck. He was treated at the scene and airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
A 69-year-old woman was arrested at the scene before being taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where she is assisting police with their inquiries.

Kirkwood Road between the M1 and Falcon Way will remain closed for some time, with motorists being redirected to the next exit (Minjungbal Drive).
