Two men aged 22-years-old and 39-years-old have been charged following several alleged car break-ins at Wallsend over the weekend.
Police were patrolling the Wallsend area around 2:40am Saturday September 9 when they were flagged down by members of the public who provided information about two men who had allegedly broken into several cars nearby.
A short time later, police stopped two men, on Minmi Road, Wallsend; they seized tools, coins, six mobile phones, keys, medication, syringes, a box of ammunition, ID documents, letters and two knives, when the men were searched.
Police will allege the items had been taken during the car break-ins.
They were taken to Waratah Police Station with both men charged with multiple offences.
The men faced court today where 39-year-old Shane Rumble was granted bail with 22-year-old Adam Shortland refused bail.
