In the Hunter a fire at Heatherbrae, which tore through thousands of hectares of land, has flared up again closing the Pacific Highway in both directions.
Further north and the fire threat near Singleton continues, with the Mount Tangory blaze burning through 900-hectares of bushland.
Emergency meetings were held today near Singleton, with a south-westerly change potentially putting homes in the line of fire tonight.
