Police appeal after Thornton home invasion
Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a home invasion at Thornton last night.
The alleged assault took place around 10:25pm last night at a home on Railway Avenue, Thornton.
Police were told six unknown men, armed with tools and metal objects, forced entry into a home before ransacking the premises.
When the group was confronted by the resident, an 18-year-old man, he was assaulted, resulting in lacerations to his face and head.
Emergency services were called and the resident was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attended and established a crime scene which has been forensically examined.
