Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is welcoming state government funding to improve water flow at Lake Cathie.
A portion of $1.5-million, allocated to support urgent dredging projects in New South Wales, will be poured into fixing the lake, with some sections now choked with silt.
Work will begin once the funding is released in the September budget.
