A man has been charged over a series of historic alleged sexual assaults of a young female relative.
In June, police launched an investigation following reports a girl, now aged 13, was sexually assaulted numerous times between 2012 and 2015, when in the care of a relative in the state’s Riverina region.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at a home in Muswellbrook this morning.
He was charged with several offences including two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10.
He was refused bail, to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow.
