Sea and air search off Hunter coast
The man has been missing for over 48 hours
A major sea and air search is underway along a huge stretch of New South Wales coastline for a missing man who hasn’t been seen since a suspected solo boating expedition in Lake Macquarie Wednesday morning.
Ashley McKellar was last seen at a home in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Bolton Point at about 8.30am Wednesday.
Police believe the 43-year-old may have launched his boat from lake access at Bolton Point at around 10.30am Wednesday.
Multiple Marine Rescue boats were deployed to resume the search for the man from 7.30am Thursday morning.
They are conducting a line search from Anna Bay to Newcastle.
