REMEMBRANCE WALL FOR OFFICERS KILLED ON DUTY

Seven Lake Macquarie police officers who died in the line of duty, have been permanently honoured with a wall of remembrance at Belmont Station.
One was also awarded a national police medal, almost 38 years after his death.
Sergeant Keith Haydon was shot at Mount Sugarloaf, while confronting a man wanted over a double murder.
Today his family accepted the honour with pride.
“I saw it first hand how involved he was in the community, and yeah I think it’s a fitting reward for dad.”
