“KNITTING NANNAS” AIM TO STITCH UP TWEED CSG MINING FOR GOOD

Rallying for a cause is no teaparty unless, of course, you’re one of these ladies.
The so-called “knitting nannas” are taking on CSG mining giants, one stitch at a time.
Inspired by the success of a similar group at the Bentley blockade anti-CSG protest, the pensioners are making a peaceful stand against unconventional gas mining in the region.
“Do you think people listen more to a group of knitting nannas than to yelling protesters? Well, I think so. A lot of people don’t like that kind of confrontation.”
And in case you’re wondering what it is they’re knitting, we’re told it’s a huge woollen banner, to hang at future rallies.
