Wyong Coach Mitch Williams admits it wasn’t his side’s best performance of the year, but he was ecstatic to get the win against The Northern Hawks.
He says centre Isaac Blackhall was outstanding, along with Kye Hopwood, who scored a first half double, as the Roos raced to an 18-nil lead.
They had to withstand a spirited fightback, before Levi Kasun sealed the deal, 22 to 16.
Wyong remain equal second on the Denton Cup ladder, and will host South Newcastle this weekend.
