A senior constable from the Northern Region Command has been charged over alleged historic child sexual offences.
Police say the charges relate to the alleged sexual and indecent assault of a girl during the 1990’s, when the man was 15 years of age.
He was taken to Belmont Police Station on Thursday, where he was charged with six counts of indecent assault of a victim under 10 years of age, and two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10 years of age.
His duty status is now under review.
